‘Manashakti’ honours and donates to 11 Social Institutes!
‘7 year Child Development Project’ inaugurated by Dr. Salunkhe!
11 social institutes were honoured and given donation on behalf of Manashakti Research Centre on 16th October 07 at the Welingkar Institute Hall, Matunga (Mumbai). The honour was bestowed at the auspicious hands of Mr. Kumar Ketkar (Editor, Loksatta). Mr. Pramod Shinde (Executive Trustee, Manashakti), Mr. Gajanan Kelkar (Research Director, Manashakti), Mr. Pralhad Bapardekar (Trustee, Manashakti), several dignitaries from society and Manashakti’s sadhakas were present on this unique occasion.
The names of the 11 social institutes are as follows - Nana Palkar Smriti Samiti (Mumbai), Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (Mumbai), Radhabai Hardikar Pranijaat Mangal Sanstha (Pune), Eklavya Bal-Shikshan and Aarogya Nyas (Pune), Aapla Ghar (Pune), Samwad (Lonavla), Bal Anand Gram (Lonavla), Dav-Bindu (Lonavla), Beru Mati-mand Pratisthan (Badlapur), Shabri Seva Samiti (Mumbai), Wai Seva Samiti (Mumbai) and Wai Akshar Institute (Wai).
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ketkar commented that, “There are many institutes in the society, who work silently. They do not crave for publicity. The members of these institutes are away from selfishness, greed in their personal life. In the words of (Swami) Vijnananand, they toil to bring light in the lives of other people. They expect nothing - position, status, money etc. - in return. ‘Manashakti’ has decided to honour such institutes and hence its a fortunate thing even to be present on such an occasion!... An individual who is sensitive to the pains in society, can be called a man in a true sense. The institutes honoured just now, believe, the pains of others to be their own and hence they strive to lessen them. This thought must reach everywhere.... Today, much is talked about ‘stress’. But according to scientists conclusion, people who work selflesslessly for others have less stress and less ailments!”
Another feature of this event was Manashakti’s ‘7 year Child Development Project’. This project was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Uday Salunkhe (Director, Welingkar Institute).
